Our first wedding of 2009 started the year off with a bang. Ashly and Tim were married at the First Baptist Church in downtown Charleston, SC and their reception was at the ballroom at Charleston Place.
The rehearsal dinner was really cool. They had their guests for dinner at the American Theater on upper King Street. The marquee displayed the couples names and guests got their tickets from the box office out front. It had the feeling of a hollywood premier complete with a red carpet. After the dinner, they all went by pedicab or bus by Absolutely Charleston to the Blind Tiger Pub on Broad Street.
The weather was perfect- a sunny crisp spring day. Wa started the day's coverage in Ashly's suite at Charleston Place while they got ready for the day. We rode by limousine to the church where guests were greeted by a baptist gospel singer.
After the ceremony we spent a few minutes at the park at the Battery, Whitepoint Gardens, for a few group shots and then off to the reception which ended with guests throwing fresh lavender at the departing couple.
Entertainment was provided by Mister Potato Head, a great live band. The venue was dramatically lit by the AV people at Charleston Place and what a fantastic job they did.
