We shot Tara and Jack's wedding recently at the Citadel's Summerall Chapel. Their reception happened at the I'on's Creek Club in Mt Pleasant. I knew Jack from the Citadel's Army program. I am a lab instructor there and he was one of the soldiers working toward a commission in the US Army. Jack was commissioned this fall as an Infantry officer and starts training soon.
We met up with Tara and her 'maids at the Charleston Marriot for prep photos. Then I rode in her limo to the church for the ceremony. The ceremony was a military ceremony that concluded with the sword arch on the steps of Summerall Chapel.
Tara got Jack a kayak for a wedding gift and she surprised him with it at the creek club. It was sitting on the dock and she walked him out to it when the arrived.
This was a hard reception for me to shoot as my fellow Citadel Army instructors were present and in full party mode. I had to concentrate on the job so I had to resist having a cocktail to two with them. The reception was catered by Good Food Catering and entertainment by Complete Music.
A couple days after the wedding, Tara opted for "day-After" photos instead of engagement or bridal portraits. These are very relaxed as the bride doesnt have to worry about messing up her dress and we met at Sullivan's Island for this shoot.
Tara and Jack lounged around in the sea grass of the beach and she even jumped into the ocean with her dress on. We all had a blast.
Congrats to the newlyweds and thanks Jack for your service to our nation.
