Here are some views of the Cooper River Bridge from the new Mount Pleasant Visitor's Center. The Charleston Visitor's Bureau had me shoot the new facility and surrounding areas.
I was commissioned to photograph the change of command ceremony for the Charleston Army Corps of Engineers.
Maria is a very dear friend and also one of the most awesome aerobics instructors ever - she is the Zumba goddess as most folks around here know her! She teaches Zumba at Gold's Gym 5 days a week, as well as many other gyms around town - it's cardio salsa and is the most fun workout ever (Tara is there almost every day!)...as she launches a new website and blog to promote her passion, we obviously needed some promo shots to get her started!
The Charleston Visitor Bureau sent me out to catch some shots of the Parade of Lights on the Charleston Harbor. In this parade, boats of every kind drape themselves with lights and parade along the water. I shot it from the Schooner Pride, a tall ship which positioned itself in the middle of everything so we could see it all. Very cool assignment! I like getting out on the water, even in the frigid 50 degree temps of December.
I was commissioned to shoot a beautiful home on James Island of a prominent Charleston architect.
The Charleston Visitors Bureau has me go out and take photos for their marketing publications and websites. I get sent on a variety of assignments for them and they are so great to work with. Here are just a handful.
Promo images for The Company Company of Charlestons theater production of Clue, The Musical. Shot at the beautiful McBee House at Ashley Hall School in Charleston, SC.
Charleston Iron
I was on a holding pattern yesterday afternoon in town so I used my waiting time to focus on a certain aspect of our beautiful city. I took a walk down Legare Street and through the Battery and just focused on the wrought iron that's all over the place here. I was on a photo assignment for a local architect and had to shoot a structure in afternoon light and again in the dark. I had 2 hours between shoots so I walked around town. The light was lovely yesterday afternoon. You can see the full set here. www.redshutterstudio.com/chasiron/
I shot some promotional photos of a young heavy metal/progressive rock band in the Seattle area recently. These guys are all under 17 and they are a very talented group of young men and are working on releasing their second album. This is the band during a practice session in a small dark garage. Instead of having them pose, I just told them to play and I shot them as candids. I did pose them for their group photo.
