We spent a sunny afternoon with Caden and his parents at Whitepoint Gardens on the Charleston Battery. Caden is an adorable and inquisitive 8 month old who was such a pleasure to work with. We photographed his parents while mommy was pregnant with him on the beach at Sullivan's Island last year.
The year in pictures: 2009

What a great year for us here at Red Shutter Studio. We made a lot of new friends and a bunch of awesome memories. We just love all the couples and families we had the opportunity to work with this year.
I put together some favorite images from the year as well as throwing in a couple classics from years ago.
On to another great year in 2010!
We spent a couple hours with Shauna and Jeff in Downtown Charleston and on Folly Beach for their engagement session. They were a joy to work with and so easy to photograph. This was our last shoot of 2009. Happy New Year everyone! {SEE THE PHOTOS HERE}
We headed out to Wadmalaw Island to Corey's family plantation to shoot their engagement session. We absolutely loved being out in the country. In one section of the property, it looked like anytown Nebraska. A short distance away was the Lowcountry setting with rivers, docks, pluff mud and oyster beds. We had a little of everything!
We walked around with Taylor and Joe on their date. It certainly didnt feel like an engagement shoot. These kids were all over each other in love. I had to break them up a couple of times so we could move to another location. They hardly noticed I was even there. These guys were very easy to be around and they made my job so easy!
Jill and Michael were wed at the historic Rice Mill at the Charleston Harbor. We got to work with our favorite partners in crime, Emmy and Erica at Peacock Events, Howie, our Video buddy and the incomparable Rob Duren spinnin the discs. The day was perfect and everyone had a wonderful time!
We flew up to New York City to where Jess and Brian live to shoot their engagement session. We spent the first day in Midtown Manhattan shooting in the rain. The next day in Central Park was much nicer in the weather department. We had a great time with this awesome couple. They'll be married in Charleston in 2010. We cant wait to see them again.
We love taking pictures in different places. Adam is a fireman, so it was appropriate to take some shots in the fire station. Congratulations on your engagement you guys!
We spent a couple of fun-filled hours with Fran for her Bridal Portraits. We did the session at the Legare Waring House at Charlestowne Landing.
My favorite baby model, Jacy turns 1 and we are there to document this day. If you remember, I documented Jacy's birth a year ago as well as her parents engagement photos and their wedding. They have become good friends to us.
We photographed cousins Eva and Luca and their parents at the home of Arthur Ravenell, JR. in Mount Pleasant. You know- the guy the bridge is named after here in Charleston. We photographed Eva's mom and dad on their wedding day a couple years ago. Your eyes arent playing tricks on you- both kids mothers are twins. I have a hard time telling them apart.
Nicole and Martial tied the knot aboard the Carolina Girl Yacht. They wined, dined and sailed their guests in and around Charleston after their ceremony which took place off the Charleston Battery. They are both Marine Biologists, so being married on the water was a must. Martial's family came from Switzerland to witness the nuptials.
Here are some views of the Cooper River Bridge from the new Mount Pleasant Visitor's Center. The Charleston Visitor's Bureau had me shoot the new facility and surrounding areas.
Oct. 10 - Stacey and Hodge - Wedding A busy weekend for Red Shutter...event #2 came on Saturday and we had a great time capturing Stacey and Hodge's wedding! The weather couldn't make up it's mind, and ceremony location changed 5 minutes before start time due to rain...but it turned out perfect! The staff at Coosaw Creek Country Club was outstanding! Stacey and Hodge were surrounding by many friends and family - lots of Clemson alumni - and the vibe was infectious!
Getting to cover this event had something very special about it...not only are Jennie and Darren a wonderful couple, but they were blessed with a wedding venue very dear to their hearts. They were married at the home of Jennie's parents, right on the waterfront on James Island - this home was where her grandmother was born, and her family has owned and lived in many of the lots on most of their street since the early 1900's. With a reception to follow at the SC Aquarium, it was a very special day to remember.
